Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar graph illustrates the information about man and women of different age groups who done regular physical activity in the year 2010. The activity represents data in percentages.
Overall, what stands out of graph is that there are male and female members from austrailia doing regular body activities to keep their selves fit. The age group for both men and women's ranges from 15 to 65 and over.
If we look at the data it can be seen that the women's from age group of 25 to 65 and over are on top of list in every activity except the first age group that is 15 to 24. It can be seen that male members above 15 and under 25 are more active in physical activities then the womwn's with having percentage of 52.8.
By contrast, women's of having age 45 or older but lower than 55 are first on chart with having 53.3 percent interested ladies in physical activities on the other hand, there are only 43.1 percent of all men's who take part in physical activities from same group.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student covers the main parts of the task by identifying overall trends and comparing male and female participation rates across different age groups. The overview attempts to capture the essence of the graph, mentioning that individuals across a wide age span engage in regular physical activity. However, some data points contain minor inaccuracies; for example, the claim that women are 'on top of the list in every activity except the first age group' overlooks the 65 and over category, where males (46.7%) are actually lower than females (47.1%), but also misreads the intermediate brackets where males outpace females in certain brackets (e.g., 45-54 sees females higher, but 55-64 is 45.1% for men and 53.0% for women). Nonetheless, key features are selected and contrasted, satisfying the requirements for a Band 5.5 to 6.0 level of task coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response is organised into four paragraphs, providing a logical framework with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs discussing specific data details. However, progression is somewhat hindered by repetitive transitional phrases like 'It can be seen that' and 'By contrast'. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or overused, and referencing lacks precision in places, such as 'the womwn's with having percentage'. Paragraphing is present and attempts to group ideas appropriately, but overall the flow feels slightly disjointed due to awkward phrasing and limited variety in cohesive markers, placing it firmly in the Band 5 range.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and repetitive, with frequent word-form and spelling errors such as 'man' instead of 'men', 'austrailia' instead of 'Australia', 'womwn's', and 'themselves' written as 'their selves'. Vocabulary is largely basic ('on top of list', 'interested ladies'), with attempts at less common phrasing resulting in unnatural collocations like 'regular body activities'. While the vocabulary is adequate to convey the general topic of physical activity and percentages, the frequency of lexical and orthographic inaccuracies restricts the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the women's from age group... are', 'women's of having age 45'), incorrect passive or participle constructions ('who done regular physical activity', 'with having percentage of 52.8'), and awkward prepositional phrases. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of grammatical slips across complex clauses causes noticeable distraction for the reader, aligning with the Band 5 descriptors.
