Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response only partially addresses the task due to severe under-length, containing only 75 words against the required 150-word minimum. While the student makes a commendable attempt to provide an overview and introduces some specific data points for the 15-to-24 age group (such as 52.8% of men and 47.7% of women), the response cuts off mid-sentence. This prevents the candidate from fully reporting the main features and making all relevant comparisons across the remaining age groups. Consequently, the information presented is limited and under-developed, keeping the score at this band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation evident in the structure, with an introductory sentence and an overview paragraph present. However, because the text cuts off abruptly, there is no clear overall progression or conclusion to the writing. Cohesive devices are used minimally in the opening ("Overall", "while"), but referencing breaks down as the text terminates mid-sentence. Paragraphing is initiated appropriately, but the lack of completion hinders the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, featuring appropriate terms such as "percentage", "regular physical activity", and "stable". There is a spelling error in the opening line ("percedntage") and a typographical/spelling slip later ("noticebly"). The student attempts some variation by using words like "varied" and "participated", but the limited vocabulary range and spelling inaccuracies reflect a constrained lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, mostly relying on simple or basic complex forms. While some sentences are controlled, there are noticeable errors such as missing punctuation after introductory transition words and a lack of spacing in some clauses (e.g., "groups, while"). Furthermore, the final sentence remains incomplete, which further limits the grammatical structures displayed. Frequent errors and unfinished clauses impact the overall accuracy of the writing.
