The bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian males and females in various age categories who performed consistent physiacl activity back in 2010.

The information declares women as most dominating gender among all age groups with prominent gap among their percentages as compared to men except in age group 15 to 24 where men took lead and standout at 52.8% while women only accounted for 47.7%. While trend of physical activities engagement in older people aging 65 or more is almost to each other between both gender where feminine category reached 47.1% and masculine category reached 46.7%.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features and making relevant comparisons between the data for Australian men and women in 2010. An overview is provided, noting the general trends and exceptions such as the 15 to 24 age bracket where men recorded higher participation. However, some parts of the response are more fully developed than others. The claim that women were the 'most dominating gender among all age groups' is inaccurate and misinterprets the data, as men actually recorded higher percentages in the 15 to 24 and 65 and over age groups. While the key figures are generally reported correctly, these inaccuracies in overview interpretation and some under-development of comparative analysis keep the task response at the targeted level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to group information logically by age categories. Paragraphing is used to separate the introduction, body details, and summary. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Words and phrases used to link ideas, such as 'While trend of physical activities engagement' and 'In summary, it can be seen that ratio of males and females differed with respect to their age discrimination', sound awkward or unnatural. Referencing and transitional phrasing lack fluency, which prevents the progression of ideas from being entirely smooth. Despite these mechanical elements, the overall structure remains clear and follows a logical path.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'proportion', 'fluctuations', and 'participation'. However, there are notable instances of poor word choice, collocation, and word form errors that restrict the lexical score. For instance, the spelling mistake 'physiacl' occurs in the opening sentence, and phrases like 'most dominating gender' and 'age discrimination' are inappropriate in this context. Other vocabulary choices such as 'feminine category' instead of 'women' or 'females' show a limited control of precise collocation. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they highlight the limitations in lexical precision and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses and comparative constructions. There are, however, several grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include missing articles ('as most dominating gender', 'at 43.1%'), awkward prepositions ('in older people aging 65 or more', 'over the difference of ages'), and subject-verb agreement or tense inconsistencies ('men took lead and standout'). Punctuation and minor syntactic errors also appear, but they rarely impede overall communication. The mix of correct simple structures alongside faulty complex attempts aligns with the expected control level for this criterion.
