Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the chart’s subject and include relevant figures, such as men reaching 52.8% among 15–24-year-olds and women reaching 53.3% among 45–54-year-olds. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: 45–54 is not the leading age group overall, since women’s highest rate is 53.3% there but the chart’s main pattern is that men lead only in the youngest group, while women lead in every other group. The claim that people aged 65 and over exercise in the “same portion” is also unsupported; the male and female figures are 46.7% and 47.1%. You mention some trends, but omit key comparisons and do not clearly summarise the contrasting patterns across the age groups. Select the main trends accurately, then support them with comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an attempted overview, and separate comments about men and women. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression is limited, and several links between ideas are unclear. For example, “Where as the 65 and over age group people doing the exercise with same portion” does not connect clearly to the preceding comparison, while “Like that” and “according to being aged” do not express the intended relationships precisely. The overview also repeats claims that are revisited later rather than establishing a clear framework for the details. Organise the body around the main comparison—men versus women—and use accurate linking phrases to show changes across age groups.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” “physical activity,” and “highest,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning awkward, such as “the regularity of physical activity,” “dominant the regural physical activity,” and “doing more physical than men.” “Same portion” is also imprecise for comparing percentages. Spelling errors, including “regural,” “thsi,” and “percenatge,” further reduce control. Aim for standard data-reporting expressions such as “the proportion who exercised,” “recorded the highest figure,” and “was higher than.” Check spelling carefully and avoid using “dominant” where a direct comparison is clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates its general topic, but sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at longer constructions are often inaccurate. Examples include “the age group of 45 to 54 dominant” and “the men of 35 to 44 age groups doing the least,” where the verb forms are incomplete. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “the age groups of women of 45 to 54 was dominating the chart.” The sentence beginning “Where as” is a fragment, and “From age 25 to 65 they increase” does not clearly identify its subject or maintain an appropriate tense. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise accurate past-tense reporting, for example, “The male figure fell to 39.5% among 35–44-year-olds, then rose in older groups.”
