Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main comparison accurately: women recorded higher participation in every age group except 15–24, and you report several key figures correctly, including 42.2% versus 48.9% for ages 25–34 and 45.1% versus 53% for ages 55–64. The account also notes the near-equal rates among people aged 65 and over. However, the overview is brief and the response mainly describes individual groups in sequence rather than clearly summarising the overall pattern. It would be stronger to state that male participation fell to a low among 35–44-year-olds before rising, while female participation generally increased to a peak in middle age and then declined. Also, the 45–54 female figure is 53.3%, not 53.5%.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response follows the age groups in a generally understandable order, and phrases such as “At last” signal that you are moving to the final category. However, the information is presented as one long paragraph, with no clear separation between an overview and supporting details. Several transitions are repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “As” and “Even,” and the sentence beginning “As other age group ranging from 35 to 44” is difficult to follow. Grouping the data into an overview and two comparison-focused paragraphs would make the progression clearer. Use linking expressions to show contrasts and trends, rather than beginning nearly every point with a similar connector.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “physical activity,” “percentage,” “age group,” and “increase,” so the chart’s subject is clear. There are also attempts at less common wording, such as “depicted” and “advanced age,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less precise. For example, “physical movements” is not a natural substitute for regular physical activity, and “more dominent percentage” does not clearly describe a higher participation rate. Spelling errors such as “Austrlia,” “particpated,” and “thier” are noticeable. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling; simple terms such as “participation rate” and “higher than” are more effective than awkward alternatives.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “as,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “All age groups of female show” and “Women has remained,” while “age group female particpated” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Some sentences are also overloaded with clauses, making relationships between ideas harder to follow. Punctuation is inconsistent: there is no space after the full stop in “42.2 percent. As,” and several long sentences would benefit from being divided. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences around a clear main clause, checking each sentence for completeness.
