Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart compares the proportion of six different age groups of men and women from australia involved in consistent physical activity in 2010.
Overall, Females accounted for higher percentage in all age groups except in most younger group. Middle aged women participated more in physical activities in contrast to every group.
Younger female group of 15 to 25 participated less then senior female citizens with 47.7% but participation in daily physical activity increased among higher aged female groups. Reaching to its peak of 53.3 % among middle aged australian women with more then half of countries 45 to 54 years old ladies participating physically on daily basis. With more senior age this number drops and reaching to its lowest of 47.1% among 65 or older women.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the chart’s subject and give a broad overview: women were more active in most age groups, while men’s highest figure was among the youngest group. You also report several key values accurately, including 52.8% for young men, 39.5% for men aged 35–44, and 53.3% for women aged 45–54. However, the overview is not fully precise: women exceeded men in every group except 15–24, rather than only in the “most younger group,” and the claim that middle-aged women participated more than “every group” is unclear. Some details are also misreported: the chart says 15–24, not 15–25, and it shows regular activity, not specifically daily activity. A clearer, more exact overview and comparisons would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to separate descriptions of women and men. This makes the main subject and broad trends reasonably easy to follow. The contrast signalled by “In contrast” is useful, and the age-group progression is generally logical. However, some links between ideas are awkward or unclear. For example, “Middle aged women participated more in physical activities in contrast to every group” does not specify what comparison is intended, while the long sentence beginning “Reaching to its peak” is a fragment rather than a complete continuation. The overview also repeats information later without clearly organising the comparisons. Use complete sentences and group the data around the main contrast between the sexes and their different age trends.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “declined,” “peak,” and “participation,” and the reader can understand the main trends. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “accounted for” and “in contrast.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “consistent physical activity” is less suitable than “regular physical activity,” “participated in physical activities” is repetitive, and “physical involvement” is vague. Spelling errors such as “considerabelly” and “australia” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart language and consistent terms, for example “the proportion who exercised regularly,” “rose,” and “fell.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. The overview says “Females accounted for higher percentage,” which needs an article and a more complete comparison; “Younger female group … participated less then senior female citizens” has an incomplete comparison structure; and “With more senior age this number drops and reaching to its lowest” combines verb forms incorrectly. The sentence beginning “Reaching to its peak” is also a fragment, and “Which started with its peak” incorrectly begins a new sentence with a dependent relative clause. Check articles, comparative constructions, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts to vary sentence structure.
