The bar chart compares the physical activity done by men and women in 2010 survey in Australia in which the chart displays the the percentage or physical activity by age of men and women.

Firstly, the physical activities are most popular by men in their 15 to 24 age with the highest percentage of 52.8% but gradually it sharply declined by age till 44 with the percentage of 39.5. Then the physical activities holds the bar again by age 45 among men and gradually goes up and rise the bar again with 46.7 percentage by 65 and over men.

Secondly, the physical activities among women shows highest level in 55 to 64 aged Australian women with the percentage of 53.3 and suprisingly its even more than the men in this age then the second hight in aged between 55 to 64 with mark of 53%. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response identifies some relevant patterns, including the male peak among 15–24-year-olds and the decline to a low point at ages 35–44, followed by a rise. However, the account only partially reports the chart’s main features and contains important inaccuracies. For women, the highest figure is 53.3% at ages 45–54, not 55–64; 53% at 55–64 is the second-highest. The claim that women’s figures at ages 15–24 and 35–44 are “almost consistant” is unclear and does not describe the data accurately. A clear overview comparing the sexes—men are higher only in the youngest group, while women lead in all other groups—would make the summary more complete. Select key comparisons and report them precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, with an opening and separate paragraphs beginning “Firstly” and “Secondly,” so the reader can distinguish the discussion of men from that of women. Some information is also presented in a broadly chronological order across age groups. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and the linking words sometimes create relationships that are not clear: “Although” introduces a sentence without a complete contrast, while “Lastly” does not clearly connect to the preceding point. Repeated references to “physical activities” also make the writing feel repetitive. Organise the response around a concise overview followed by clear comparisons, and use linking expressions only when their logical function is evident.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, such as “percentage,” “declined,” “highest level,” and “gradually,” and the general topic remains understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “holds the bar again” and “rise the bar again” do not naturally describe a changing percentage, and “the second hight” is unclear. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “suprisingly,” “activites,” and “consistant.” Use precise chart language such as “rose,” “fell,” “reached a peak,” and “was higher than,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “but,” “because,” and “Although.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence construction and agreement can make the relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “the physical activities are most popular by men” has an awkward grammatical structure, while “the physical activities holds the bar” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening also repeats “the” and combines clauses in an unclear way. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The proportion of men fell to 39.5% among those aged 35–44.” Then check agreement, articles, and punctuation before finishing.
