Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant features, including the male peak in the youngest group (52.8%), the female peak at ages 45–54 (53.3%), and the male low among 35–44-year-olds. However, the response only minimally summarises the chart: it lacks a clear overview of the overall pattern, such as women being more active than men in every age group except 15–24. Some comparisons are inaccurate: the 25–34 and 45–54 groups are not nearly equal between sexes, with gaps of 6.7 and 10.2 percentage points respectively. The claim that most figures are between 50% and 55% also overlooks several values below 50%. Focus on the main trends and make comparisons precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response includes a sequence of chart-related observations, and linking expressions such as “Meanwhile” help signal a comparison. However, the ideas are not arranged into a clear summary with an introduction, overview, and supporting details. The observations move from peaks to lows, then to selected comparisons, without a consistent grouping by gender or age. Some links are also unclear: “men and women of age 25 to 34 and 45 to 54 ate nearly equal” does not make clear which figures are being compared. The final comments about health and the 60% mark interrupt the description rather than develop it. Group related data and use clear references to the age groups and percentages.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “physical activity,” “age,” and “reaching,” so the reader can generally identify the topic and intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for describing a chart. “Workouts” is not a precise substitute for regular physical activity, while “minimum number of workouts” confuses a percentage with a count. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “demonstrats,” “varing,” “higgest,” and “raging,” which reduce clarity. Use standard chart language consistently, such as “proportion,” “recorded,” and “the lowest figure,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few different sentence patterns, including clauses introduced by “As” and “Meanwhile,” and most of the intended meaning can be understood. However, the range is limited, and errors recur in basic sentence construction. For example, “The give chart demonstrats” has an incorrect verb form, and “The minimum number … was of age ranging from 35 to 44” is not grammatically well formed. The sentence beginning “The bar chart shows that the men and women ranging from age 65 and over are almost same” also lacks a natural grammatical structure and article use. Build accurate simple comparison sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries.
