Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart compers the ration of men and women in different age who did physical activity every day. The data is about 2010 from Asutralia.
Overall, almost in all age group female did regular exercise rather than male. However, teenagers especially boys did physical activity on regular bases in 2010.
To begin with, first and foremost the data is represent in present. Firstly, elders such as 65 and over it had a almost similar numbers and that was 46.7%(male) and 47.1%(female). Furthermore, age group between 45 to 54 had highest number of female who did regular physical activity while, only 43.1% male did regular physical activity.
On the other hand, age group between 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 had similar number such as 48.9% and 52.5% women did regular workout but 42.2% and 39.5% male did regular physical activity.
In contrast, age group between 55 to 64 had vast major difference because 53% women did physical activity regularly but on the next side only 45.1% male did regular workout.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the chart’s subject and give a broad overview that women were more active in most age groups, while young men recorded a higher figure. Several comparisons are also accurate: for example, you report the near-equal rates among people aged 65 and over and the female figures for ages 25–44. However, the overview is not fully accurate: women exceeded men in five groups, not “almost in all” as a vague generalisation, and the highest male rate was among 15–24-year-olds, which is not clearly reported. The claim that teenagers were especially active is also imprecise because it does not compare the sexes or give the figures. Select the main trends more clearly and support them with key data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, an overview and body paragraphs, and the age-group comparisons are generally grouped in a readable way. However, progression is weakened by repetitive or mechanical signposting such as “To begin with, first and foremost,” “Firstly,” and “On the other hand.” The final paragraph begins “In contrast,” although it continues the same pattern of women having higher rates, so the relationship between ideas is unclear. Some sentences also combine several comparisons without a clear organising principle. Use one concise overview, then group the figures by the main pattern—for example, the male-leading youngest group and the female-leading older groups—and use linking phrases only when they accurately show contrast or addition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” “regular physical activity,” and “similar,” so the topic is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the report awkward: “compers the ration,” “did physical activity on regular bases,” and “vast major difference.” Spelling errors such as “Asutralia” and “compers” also reduce precision. Avoid informal or imprecise alternatives such as “workout” when describing the chart, and use standard reporting language consistently. Building a small set of accurate terms for describing proportions, comparisons and trends would make the account clearer and more appropriate for an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “because,” but complex constructions are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “The data is about 2010 from Asutralia” has an awkward sentence structure, while “age group between 45 to 54 had highest number of female” has problems with articles and the comparison pattern. In “elders such as 65 and over it had a almost similar numbers,” the subject and sentence structure are unclear. There are also inconsistent verb forms, as in “the data is represent in present.” Aim first for accurate, complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then add subordinate clauses once those patterns are secure.
