Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main comparison—that women recorded higher activity rates in most age groups—and note the male lead among 15–24-year-olds. You also report the male low accurately at 35–44. However, some details are misreported: the female low is 47.7% for ages 15–24, not 42.2% for “23 to 34”; 42.2% is the male figure for ages 25–34. The female peak is 53.3% at 45–54, rather than 52%, and the overview does not describe the contrasting trends across age groups. The final statement repeats the general comparison without adding detail. More accurate figures and a clearer overview of the trends would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph of comparisons, and a concluding statement. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the relationship between ideas. However, the main comparison paragraph moves between peaks, lows, and remaining figures without a clear sequence, and “The remaining age group ranges from 42% to 47% inconsecutively” is difficult to connect to the specific data. The conclusion largely repeats the earlier overview rather than bringing the key comparisons together. Organise the body by age pattern or by gender, and use clearer references to each age group so the progression is easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” “highest,” and “lowest,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “the information presented by the bar chart.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “percentile” is not the right term for a chart percentage, “age ranging in” is awkward, and “engage themselves to physical activities” is not a natural collocation. “Inconsecutively” also does not clearly express the intended comparison. Prefer precise, straightforward language such as “participation rate” and “the rate varied between…”; this will improve accuracy without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use both simple statements and more complex forms, including the contrast introduced by “While” and the clause “with 52.8%.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and awkward constructions are present. For example, “in various age group” needs a plural noun, and “for almost all age range” has a number-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “While, the lowest reported average…” is not correctly punctuated as a subordinate clause, and “the age range of 23 to 34” is grammatically formed but refers to an incorrect category. Work on plural forms, article use, and sentence boundaries, and make sure each “while” clause is joined to a complete main clause. These refinements would make your varied sentence forms more controlled.
