Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You provide a relevant overview by identifying the main contrast: men lead only in the 15–24 group, while women lead in the remaining groups. You also report several key figures, including 52.8% for young men and 53.3% for women aged 45–54. This covers the task well, though some comparisons are less fully developed: for example, the 55–64 figures are not stated, and the near-equal rates for people aged 65 and over are mentioned without numbers. There is also a small data inaccuracy: women aged 35–44 recorded 52.5%, not 53.5%, and the difference from men was about 13 percentage points. Make the overview more precise and support each age-group comparison with accurate figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs comparing younger and older age groups. This gives the reader a sensible route through the chart, and phrases such as “Looking at the younger ones” and “Regarding the older groups” signal the focus of each paragraph. However, linking is sometimes mechanical or awkward, particularly the repeated use of “Whereas” and “However,” and some references are unclear, as in “their ratio is almost same.” The overview also repeats information that is developed later without adding a distinct summary of the overall trends. Use fewer, more precise transitions and make comparisons within sentences so the progression feels smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” “recorded,” and “dominating,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons you intend. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing data. “A step ahead” and “women are dominating” are informal or imprecise, while “highest number” is not suitable when discussing percentages. Spelling and word-form errors such as “numbr,” “wiith,” and “theur” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise reporting language and check spelling carefully; terms such as “proportion,” “higher rate,” and “peaked” would make the description more natural and concise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including contrast clauses with “Whereas” and “However,” and most of the intended meaning remains understandable. Nevertheless, the range is limited, and errors occur often enough to affect clarity. Examples include “women are a step ahead than men,” where the comparison pattern is faulty, and “women highest numbr was recorded,” which lacks a possessive structure and has an incorrect sentence construction. “Women securing 53.3%” is also an incomplete clause, while “more then 10% then men” does not form a clear grammatical comparison. Practise complete sentences with accurate comparative structures, articles, and verb forms, and proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
