Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the chart’s main comparison and include figures for all six age groups, so the response is relevant and gives a generally accurate account. The overview correctly notes that men lead only among 15–24-year-olds and that women are more active in the other groups. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: women’s peak is reported as 53.8% for ages 45–54, whereas the chart shows 53.3%; the overview also says women exercised “on daily basis,” although the chart concerns regular activity, not daily exercise. The overview could better highlight the contrasting trends: men’s rate falls to a low at 35–44 before rising, while women’s rises to a peak and then declines. These features would make the summary more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and paragraphs reporting age-group figures. The sequence broadly follows the chart from younger to older groups, and linking words such as “Overall” and “Subsequently” help signal movement. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview’s claims are imprecise, and the final paragraph combines two separate age groups in a long sentence that is difficult to follow. Some connections are also awkward, such as “While the people of over 65 age,” which does not link smoothly to the preceding comparison. Grouping the first two age bands and then the remaining bands, with clear comparison sentences, would improve the organisation and reduce the mechanical listing of figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of relevant terms, including “proportion,” “age group,” “ratio,” and “physical activities,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. “Ratio” is repeatedly used where “percentage” or “proportion” is intended, and “women did more exercise than men on daily basis” introduces a frequency not shown in the chart. Phrases such as “doing workout” and “people who doing there workout” are also awkward, while “expect” appears to be an incorrect choice for “except.” Aim for precise, consistent chart vocabulary rather than varying expressions with unsuitable collocations. This would make the report clearer and more appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons joined with “while” and “which,” and the main figures are usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur often enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “the ratio of female who did” needs a plural noun and matching verb, while “people who doing there workout” lacks an auxiliary and uses an incorrect possessive form. The sentence beginning “Subsequently, 35-44 and 55-64 age group…” also has agreement problems and an unclear structure. Check subject–verb agreement, use complete verb phrases, and punctuate comparisons so that each sentence has a clear subject and main clause.
