Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several important features accurately: women’s activity peaks at 53.3% among 45–54-year-olds, men’s lowest figure is 39.5% for ages 35–44, and the oldest groups have similar rates. You also report a number of figures correctly. However, the overview is not fully accurate: it says women recorded the least at ages 35–44, although their lowest rate is 47.7% among 15–24-year-olds. The claim that the oldest groups did the “same level” of exercise also overstates a small difference. Some comparisons are repeated, while the overall contrast—that women were more active than men in every age group except 15–24—is missing. A clearer, more complete overview and more selective comparisons would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and the information is generally grouped by gender and age. This gives the reader a basic route through the data. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the male figures for ages 25–34 and 55–64 appear more than once, and the final paragraph returns to comparisons already made. Some linking is awkward or unclear, particularly “Whereas the least ratio belonged to…” and “where 55 to 64 men ranked third.” Use transitions to show meaningful contrasts rather than simply adding another figure, and organise the details into a clearer comparison of the two genders across age groups.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “recorded the highest,” “proportion,” “lagged behind” and “similarity.” These choices help communicate comparisons, and the meaning is usually recoverable. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural for describing a chart: “more dominant,” “least ratio,” “remained most popular” and “joining exercise” do not fit the data particularly well. “Daily basis exercise” also suggests daily frequency, which the chart does not measure; it reports regular physical activity. Aim for precise, conventional terms such as “participation rate,” “highest percentage” and “were more active.” This would improve naturalness and accuracy without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including contrast structures such as “Whereas…” and “women, however…,” and most of the data remains understandable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. The opening phrase “male and female in various age group” lacks plural and article control, while “female 45 to 54 recorded” needs a clearer subject construction. In “elderly peoples in both group 65 over showed similarity,” number, article and preposition choices make the sentence difficult to follow. There are also sentence-boundary problems, as in “female 45 to 54 recorded the highest… Whereas the least ratio…”. Build complete sentences around each comparison and check agreement, plurals and articles; greater accuracy across these structures would make the response easier to read.
