Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the chart’s subject and report several relevant comparisons, including the male peak among 15–24-year-olds (52.8%) and women’s higher figures in most other groups. Your overview also captures the main exception: men are more active in the youngest group. However, some key trends are not clearly explained. For example, women’s activity rises to a peak of 53.3% at ages 45–54 before edging down, while men’s rate falls to 39.5% at 35–44 and then increases; these patterns would make a stronger overview. The claim that activity is “still remaining same” for women aged 55–64 is imprecise, as the figure is slightly below the previous group. Report the main movements clearly and compare the figures accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and an overall summary. It also groups comparisons by age range, and linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “On contrast” show an attempt to connect points. However, progression within the body is sometimes difficult to follow because several comparisons are compressed into unclear sentences, such as “the age groupes of 35-44 female are rising the percentages of male.” The opening “Regarding” is left incomplete, and the overview comes after the body rather than guiding the reader from the outset. Use a clear overview after the introduction, then organise the details into a consistent sequence, explaining each age group’s male and female figures in complete, connected sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentages,” “age groups,” “physical activity,” and “compared,” so the topic remains identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes comparisons hard to understand. Phrases such as “men are rising physical activity,” “female are highly increasing percentages,” and “the physical activity are still remaning same” do not express the intended trends naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “compering,” “age groupes,” and “on word.” Build a more precise set of trend expressions, such as “the proportion rose,” “was higher than,” “reached a peak,” and “declined slightly,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the reader can generally identify the age groups and figures being discussed. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, as in “Regarding, the age group of 15-24 men are rising physical activity as compering women” and “the age groups 45-54 female are highly increasing percentages.” These examples show problems with clause construction, subject–verb agreement and verb forms. Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent; for instance, “the ages groups” and the comma after “Regarding” disrupt the sentence. Practise writing one complete comparison per sentence, using patterns such as “Among people aged 45–54, the figure for women was 53.3%, compared with 43.1% for men.” This will improve control while allowing more varied structures.
