Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report all six age groups and give figures that match the chart, which makes the response relevant and informative. However, the overview is weak: the conclusion says that “as the age increases females participate in sports more than males,” but men actually have the higher rate in the youngest group, and the female rate does not rise steadily with age. A clearer overview would identify the main pattern: men lead only among 15–24-year-olds, while women lead in every older group; women peak around 45–64, whereas men reach their low point at 35–44 before rising. The opening also says the data covers ages “15 to 65,” which does not accurately describe the final “65 and over” category.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a sequence of age-group comparisons, and a concluding statement. “Moreover” helps signal the move to the older groups, and the figures are generally presented in chart order. However, most of the body reads as a list of individual values, so the reader has to infer the larger trends. The conclusion also repeats a broad comparison rather than drawing together the key pattern. Grouping the youngest group separately, then comparing the remaining groups, would create stronger progression. Use linking expressions selectively and make sure each paragraph has a clear purpose, such as overview followed by grouped supporting details.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing the chart, including “percentage,” “age group,” “participating,” and “involved in physical activity.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or too informal for an academic report. “Boys,” “girls,” “gents,” and “ladies” are less suitable than “men” and “women” when describing adult age groups. “Participate in sports” also changes the chart’s meaning, which concerns regular physical activity more broadly. Spelling errors such as “physicall,” “phisical,” and “particapte” are noticeable. Aim for precise, consistent chart language and check spelling carefully; this would make the comparisons clearer and more appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparative sentences, and the main figures are usually understandable. However, some sentence patterns contain errors in agreement, articles, and number. For example, “15-24 year of age group” needs a plural form and a more accurate construction, while “women who belongs” should use a plural verb. In “46.7% of male and 47.1% of female regularly gets engaged,” the nouns and verb do not agree with the plural percentages and groups. The opening, “The bar Graph showcase,” also has subject–verb agreement and capitalization problems. Practise accurate comparative structures such as “the proportion of men was lower than that of women,” and proofread each sentence for agreement and complete, natural phrasing.
