Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several relevant comparisons, including men leading in the youngest group and women having higher participation in most other groups. The figures for ages 15–24, 25–34, 45–54 and 65 and over are generally reported accurately. However, the overview is unclear: saying the youngest group “is the minimum” does not describe the main pattern, and the response does not clearly summarise that male participation falls to a low at 35–44 before rising, while female participation peaks around middle age. The 35–44 comparison is also incomplete because the male figure is omitted, and the 55–64 figures are described only as “almost same,” although women are notably higher. Select and explain the key trends more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic sequence through the age groups, and expressions such as “Moreover,” “Eventually,” and “Lastly” help signal movement between comparisons. This gives the reader some organisation. However, the progression is largely a list of age bands rather than a clear overview followed by grouped comparisons. The opening overview does not establish the main trends, and some links are inaccurate or awkward, such as “because they where almost same at percentage,” which makes the relationship between the 45–54 and 55–64 groups unclear. Paragraphing is also absent, so the overview and detailed data are not separated. Organise the response into an introduction, a concise overview, and one or two paragraphs grouping the most meaningful comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” and “engaged in physical activities,” so the topic is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the minimum” is not a clear way to describe the youngest age group’s participation, and “more less in physical activities” does not express the comparison naturally. There are also spelling and form errors such as “decipt,” “womens,” and “Evenmore.” Aim for precise chart language and consistent terms such as “participation rate,” “higher than,” and “the lowest figure.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparative sentences, for example, “the females are higher when compared with males,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms occur frequently: “The Bar graph decipt the data” lacks a well-formed verb phrase, while “the people of age 55 to 64 is” has a plural subject with a singular verb. Some sentences also run together or use unclear clause structures, as in “the people of age 65 or evenmore the both male and female percentage is almost same.” These problems can make comparisons harder to understand. Practise building accurate patterns such as “The proportion of women was higher than that of men” and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
