Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main contrast: men have the highest participation in the youngest group, while women lead in the other age groups. You also include several relevant figures, such as about 53% for young men and around 54% for women aged 45–54. However, the overview is unclear in places, especially “rest least dominated in others groups,” and some comparisons are inaccurate or incomplete. For example, men did not “remained same amount” from ages 25–34 to 45–54: their rate rises from 42.2% to 43.1%. The account also omits the notable female peak across ages 35–64 and the male recovery after its low point at 35–44. Select these key trends and report them more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about age groups, and it uses some linking expressions such as “Overall,” “But,” and “In the age group.” This gives the reader a general sense of the topic. However, progression within the detail paragraphs is difficult to follow: the second paragraph shifts between women’s figures and men’s figures, while the final paragraph repeats some comparisons without a clear sequence. Several references, including “them” and “others group,” are unclear. Organise the body by a consistent pattern—for example, describe the male trend first and then the female trend—and use precise links such as “by contrast” or “whereas” to make comparisons easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary suited to describing data, including “illustrates,” “accounted,” “proportion,” and “significantly.” However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are frequent enough to make some points difficult to understand. Phrases such as “highest activist,” “greater participators,” “men were peak,” and “men was became competating” do not express the intended chart trends naturally. There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “informtion” and “ages groups.” Use standard chart language consistently: people “participated in regular physical activity,” a percentage “was highest,” and a figure “rose” or “fell.” This would make your comparisons more precise without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You try to form longer sentences and use comparison structures, but the response relies on a limited range and many sentences contain errors that make relationships between figures unclear. Examples include “men was greater participators,” “women rose significantly 50%,” and “men were holded just 42%.” These show problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. Articles and comparison patterns also need attention, as in “in the age of 15 to 24” and “7% below then women.” Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The male figure was 42.2%, around seven percentage points lower than the female figure.” Check each sentence for agreement and tense before finishing.
