Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the chart’s subject and include several relevant figures, such as 52.8% for young men and 39.5% for men aged 35–44. However, the overview is unclear and inaccurate: the highest figure is not confined to the 15–20 age group (the chart shows 15–24), and the lowest is not described clearly. The response also confuses comparisons, particularly in the final sentence, where the 55–64 figures are assigned to the wrong genders. Important overall patterns are missing: men lead only in the youngest group, while women have higher activity rates in every other group. At 104 words, the response also falls short of the required 150. Report the main trends accurately, then support them with selected comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and using phrases such as “Overall” and “Fetiching into details” to signal stages. However, the ideas do not progress clearly: figures for different age groups are mixed together, and the final sentence introduces another comparison without explaining its relationship to the earlier details. Some linking expressions, including “moreover” and “then,” do not make the connections between figures clear. The response would be easier to follow if it used separate paragraphs for the overview and detailed comparisons, and presented the age groups in chart order. Use linking words only when they accurately show contrast, sequence, or addition.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “percentage,” “regular physical activity,” and “highest,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “was lucid that” is not a natural way to introduce an overview, while “highest accounted at” and “same has little change” do not express the comparisons clearly. There are also spelling errors such as “Fetiching,” “Consedering,” and “foolowed.” Choose precise chart language, such as “stood at,” “rose to,” “fell to,” and “was higher than,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts connected sentences and some comparative structures, but grammatical control is inconsistent and the sentence patterns are mostly simple or loosely joined. In “the percentage was highest accounted at 52.8%,” the verb structure is faulty; “followed by 65and over was same” also lacks a clear grammatical connection. The final sentence shifts between singular and plural forms (“men physical activity” and “women was”) and does not clearly identify what each percentage refers to. Age ranges are also written without spaces or consistent formatting. Build shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use accurate forms such as “the rate for women was” or “men’s rate rose.”
