Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main pattern accurately: men have the higher figure among 15–24-year-olds, while women lead in the older groups, and you report several key values correctly, including 52.5%, 53.3% and 47.1% for women. The overview gives the reader a useful summary, and the body covers all six age groups. To make the account more fully developed, state the overall contrast more precisely: women exceed men from 25–34 onwards, but the gap narrows considerably in the oldest group. Also clarify that the male rate falls to its low point at 35–44 before rising, rather than describing the later changes only as gradual growth. These additions would make the main features clearer and more fully compared.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs reporting the figures in age-group order. This gives the information a coherent progression, and transitions such as “Furthermore” and “However” help signal changes. Some linking is mechanical or does not express the relationship precisely; for example, “However” introduces the small female dip at 55–64, although this is mainly a continuation of the trend description. The repeated openings “The age from…” and “the female…” also make the progression feel list-like. Grouping the age bands into a clear comparison—men’s decline and recovery versus women’s rise and later fall—would improve flow and reduce repetition. A few references, such as “their place,” are unclear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “age group,” “percentage,” “increased,” and “decline,” so the chart’s subject is generally clear. However, the range and control of collocations are uneven, and some choices make comparisons awkward: “male domination,” “female occupied their place,” and “shown more interest” are not natural ways to describe statistical rates. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Austrailan,” “acitvities,” and “feamle.” Prefer neutral, precise language such as “the proportion of men,” “women recorded a higher rate,” and “the figure rose.” More accurate word forms and collocations would make the report easier to read and more appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, and the reader can generally follow the comparisons. However, some grammatical errors recur in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “male and female from different age groups” needs a plural noun phrase, while “female occupied their place and shown” has problems with the subject, verb form and parallel structure. The phrase “the age from 25-34 the female domination raised” also lacks a clear grammatical connection between the age group and the reported figure. Articles and prepositions are sometimes missing or awkward, as in “from 25 and above age.” Use a consistent pattern such as “Among people aged 25–34, the female rate was…” and check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verbs.
