Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the chart’s subject and give an overview of the highest figures: men aged 15–24 (52.8%) and women aged 45–54 (53.3%). You also include several accurate comparisons, including the similar rates for people aged 65 and over. However, the report does not fully capture the main pattern: women exceed men in every age group except 15–24, and men’s rate falls before rising again. The overview says only where the peaks occur, while the body’s description of the 25–34 male figure as a “10.6 percent decrement” is unclear and does not explain the subsequent trend. State the overall gender pattern and contrasting trends explicitly, then support them with selected figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of data. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and the final comparison of the oldest group provides a useful closing detail. However, progression within the body is uneven: the first paragraph moves from the youngest group to the next, while the second jumps across three groups without clearly explaining the male trend. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Furthermore” are used mechanically, and “whilst” does not clearly signal the relationship between the two series. Organise the details by a clear comparison or trend, and use linking phrases only where they clarify how the figures relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age groups,” and “regular physical activity,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to interpret. “Percentile” is not the right term for a chart percentage, “daily-baises” is unclear, and “highest touch of porportion” does not express a peak naturally. Phrases such as “female candidate” and “senior citizens age groups” are also unsuitable for describing the chart’s categories. Choose precise, conventional terms such as “proportion,” “women,” and “people aged 65 and over,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can usually identify the figures being compared. However, control is inconsistent: several sentence structures are faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “the highest percentage of workout had seen” lacks a clear grammatical subject and uses an incorrect verb construction; “the number is less than men which was 47.7 percent” has an unclear comparison and reference. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and capitalisation, as in “52.8 percent. while,” and with articles and agreement in “a regular exercise was.” Practise forming complete comparison sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check punctuation and agreement in each sentence.
