Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You report many relevant figures accurately, including the male low point of 39.5% among 35–44-year-olds and the female peak of 53.3% among 45–54-year-olds. You also identify the key comparison: men lead only in the youngest group, while women are higher in the other age groups. However, the overview is not fully clear: saying women were “significantly” active across every age group is vague and does not capture the contrasting trends. The final figure for women aged 65 and over is given as 46.7%, whereas the chart shows 47.1%. A clearer overview of the overall pattern, alongside consistently accurate figures, would make the summary more complete and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to separate discussion of men and women, followed by a comparison. This makes the information generally easy to follow. However, the overview repeats ideas that appear again in the final paragraph, and phrases such as “In general” and “On the other hand” make the progression somewhat mechanical. Some links between figures are also crowded together, particularly in the long sentence listing male age groups. Improve cohesion by grouping the main trends more deliberately and using comparisons to connect related figures, rather than repeating the same conclusion. Clearer sentence boundaries would also help readers follow the sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing the chart, including “accounted for,” “stood at,” “participated,” and “involvement.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for formal data reporting. “Women were dominated the males” does not express the intended comparison naturally; use “women recorded higher participation rates than men.” “Into physical activities” is informal, while “involved in workouts, sports and other activities” adds categories not shown in the chart. There are also spelling errors, such as “proprotion,” “activties,” and “noteable,” and repeated use of “physical activities.” More precise collocations and careful proofreading would strengthen the range and control of your vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “men who aged 15 to 24 years old was” should be “men aged 15 to 24 were,” and “women were dominated the males” has an incorrect passive construction. The opening phrase “the proportion … are involved” also combines an unsuitable verb pattern with a singular subject. Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and some sentences joined awkwardly. Practise accurate comparative sentence patterns and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
