Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify relevant comparisons, including that men have the higher figure among 15–24-year-olds and that women exceed men in several middle age groups. However, the account only partially summarises the chart: it gives no clear overview of the main pattern across all age groups, and the claim that activity decreases in men as age increases overlooks the rise after ages 35–44. The statement that female activity decreases at 35–45 is also inaccurate; the female rate rises to its peak at 45–54 before edging down. The explanation about health issues and the conclusion that women are more energetic are not supported by the chart. Focus on accurately describing the overall trends and key comparisons rather than adding causes or judgments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response contains several relevant points, and phrases such as “in the age of 15-24” and “but in the age of 65 to over” signal comparisons. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous sequence without paragraphing or a clear progression from overview to supporting details. The discussion shifts from chart trends to speculation about health, then to a single numerical comparison and a personal conclusion, so the reader has to work to follow the main message. Some links are also unclear, particularly “female physical activity decrease in 35-45 years of age” after the earlier claim about women reaching their highest score. Group the overview separately, then compare the age groups in a logical order using clear, accurate linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “physical activity,” “age,” “higher,” “decrease,” and “difference,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “highest score” for a percentage and “more energetic and powerful in physical activity.” Repeated use of “age” and “activity” also makes the description less precise. Spelling errors—including “especialy,” “beacuse,” “diffrence,” and “geneder”—are noticeable and can slow the reader. Use standard chart language such as “rate,” “proportion,” “peak,” and “decline,” and check spelling and word forms carefully to make comparisons clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “whenever people get older,” and you use comparative structures such as “higher than.” However, sentence structures are limited, and attempts at longer constructions often contain errors that make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “This bar chart explain” (subject–verb agreement), “women' physical activty go” (agreement and possessive form), and “men from the age of 15-24 to 35-44 decrease” (unclear tense and sentence construction). Missing or misplaced full stops and inconsistent capitalisation also affect readability. Practise writing short, complete sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, then combine them using a small range of controlled complex structures.
