Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover the chart’s main comparisons and include figures for all six age groups. The overview correctly identifies that women recorded higher activity rates in every group except 15–24, and the detailed comparisons are generally accurate, including the male low of 39.5% at ages 35–44 and the near-equal figures among those aged 65 and over. This gives the report a clear, relevant account of the data. To make the overview more analytical, highlight the broader pattern: men’s rate falls after the youngest group and then rises, while women’s rate peaks around ages 45–64 before declining. Also avoid imprecise claims such as “dominated completely,” since the chart shows a difference in percentages rather than complete dominance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs reporting the figures in age-group order. This sequence makes the comparisons easy to follow, and linking words such as “Overall,” “However,” and “In addition” help signal relationships. The organisation is effective, though some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In addition, other all aged group is dominated by female over male, through out the period” is difficult to interpret and repeats the overview. Use clearer references and transitions, and group related trends rather than presenting each age group as a separate comparison. This would make the progression more flexible and the overview-to-detail links more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “age group,” “higher,” and “recorded,” so the data remains understandable. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the language less natural and sometimes obscure meaning: “on daily bases,” “did exerises everyday,” “higher performance rate,” and “dominates completely.” The chart describes regular physical activity, not necessarily daily exercise, so avoid adding that unsupported detail. There are also spelling errors such as “exerises” and “through out.” Aim for accurate, neutral reporting phrases such as “the proportion who exercised regularly” and “was higher than,” and use “rate” or “figure” consistently. Greater precision and fewer noticeable errors would strengthen this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “while” and “However,” and the main figures are usually presented in understandable clauses. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in agreement and sentence construction. For example, “the percentage of female did exerises everyday was higher” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “other all aged group is dominated” has problems with number and verb form. In “The percentage of male did physical exercises rate improved,” the subject and verb pattern are also faulty. Check singular and plural agreement, and build comparisons with a clear subject and verb—for example, “The proportion of women exercising regularly was higher.” More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control.
