Student answer (Band 6.5)

People have different views about whether people should share information for scientific investigations, business and academic purposes or whether people should exchange their data without charge. While sharing data for research purposes helps researchers to develop new Insights, I believe that sharing information should be free.

There are a variety of reasons why people believe that collecting data from individuals should be charge free. One possible reason is that it assists researchers to minimize the cost of any innovative project. Every researcher doesn't have enough fund to collect data from people. It is very challenging for them to continue developing new model without valid data that obviously helps people in the future. By getting information free, they builds different models or Algorithms for societal developments, fostering humans well-being and giving unforseen insights. As result, people can more resilient about the upcoming disease or risks.

Despite the arguments mentioned above, some people feel that people should share excessive amount of information for research work. This is becacuse when reseachers get a vast amount of data, they can make more precise research for society. By utilizing enough data, they not only predict the future outcomes but also make more viable research works, enabling people to utilise their life and different purposes. For example, when a researcher get a plenty of information which enables them more accurate forecasting about many disease such as fever, cough, cancer and so on. Subsequently, people could be more knowledgeable about their heath conditions using the findings of these research.

In conclusion, although providing excessive information help educators to innovate new insights for people, I argue that these data should be free for them all the time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the second paragraph focuses on the cost-saving benefits of free data, while the third paragraph discusses the benefits of vast data for precision. The arguments are relevant but could be more deeply explored with more specific, real-world examples beyond general mentions of 'fever' or 'cough'. The position is consistent, but the distinction between the two viewpoints could be sharper to better reflect the complexity of the prompt regarding 'valuable' information versus 'free' access.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One possible reason', 'Despite the arguments mentioned above', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the jump from discussing 'innovative projects' to 'societal developments' in the second paragraph is a bit abrupt. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is generally clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'innovative', 'resilient', and 'forecasting'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'every researcher doesn't have enough fund' (should be 'funds' or 'funding') and 'utilize their life' (which is unclear in this context). The repetition of words like 'people' and 'information' limits the lexical range, preventing a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('they builds', 'researcher get'), article usage ('a plenty of information'), and pluralization errors ('many disease'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band. Greater attention to basic grammatical accuracy and sentence variety would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
