Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding social workers and banking are somewhat disjointed and lack the depth required for a higher band. The explanation of the risks of sharing information is also quite basic, focusing more on personal social media usage rather than the broader implications for scientific research or business, which were key parts of the prompt. To improve, you should ensure your examples are more relevant to the specific contexts mentioned in the task and provide more detailed reasoning for your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Examining my favourable reason to support the prior view' and 'On the other side, latter view holds obvious reason'. These transitions feel forced and do not always connect ideas smoothly. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'major people gets to know about us' and 'boost chance'. The use of vocabulary is often repetitive, and there are minor errors in collocation that occasionally hinder the flow. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic of information security and professional communication, and ensure that your word choices are contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('major people gets'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, which makes the text difficult to read at times. While the meaning is generally clear, the persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors and practicing complex sentence formation will be beneficial.
