Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both sides of the argument and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and logically structured. However, some points are slightly under-developed; for example, the explanation of how businesses benefit from scientific research is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more specific detail or analysis. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively synthesizes the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with clear paragraphing. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by grammatical errors, such as 'As a result, companies cannot be shared freely information to society.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'intellectual property,' 'confidential,' and 'innovation.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'better way to share' instead of 'better to share' and 'cannot shared' instead of 'cannot share.' The vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on accurate collocations and using more sophisticated synonyms will help improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and sentence construction (e.g., 'others people think that few information,' 'cannot shared information,' and 'a countries safety'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main arguments. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct use of articles, and ensuring that passive and active voice constructions are grammatically sound.
