Student answer (Band 6.0)

As per the given information in my opinion i believe that sharing some confidential information freely in not good for some research person.

In many countries, I have seen that many information are leaked for some major important project through some sources. First let's discuss about scientific research, for the year 2021 in India, there was huge spread of dangerous virus name "Corona" and because of this virus India was on lockdown. This huge spread of virus is due to some leak information and many scientists were unable to find antidote also for this virus. And in business fields many untrustworthy employee can leak the companies data for their own benefits and some had build their own firm through that data. So, I strongly believe that sharing too important information can cause many consequences.

And for the academic world it also very important to not share valuable information for negative impacts. If it is confidential then it will be too risky. But sometimes, we must share some information to our employee or team member for the better growth of the company. In the information related to their project or any updates, then it is mandatory to share. Government also takes some action for some important projects that can not cause any harmful impact.

In conclusion, I do not agree with sharing more valuable information with others. It cause many harmful impacts on research, business and many other fields. This can help you from major unworthy impacts to keep you away.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. The example regarding the COVID-19 pandemic is not clearly linked to the prompt's core theme of information sharing, and the reasoning remains somewhat superficial. The arguments regarding business and academia are repetitive and lack depth. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more specific, logical explanations for why information should or should not be shared, rather than relying on vague assertions about 'leaks' or 'harmful impacts'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is basic and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'First let's discuss', 'And for the academic world'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect sentences and ideas smoothly. Additionally, the conclusion is somewhat confusing and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs. Improving the use of transition signals would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is frequent repetition of basic words like 'information', 'important', and 'share'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'research person' instead of 'researcher' or 'unworthy impacts' which does not convey the intended meaning. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and to express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'sharing some confidential information freely in not good' (subject-verb agreement/preposition error) and 'many information are leaked' (uncountable noun error). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would be a good starting point for improvement.
