Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is argued that some people believe its good to share information in articles, business and academics, while other believe some information is too valuable to be shared freely. information should be free as it has have helped humans to advance in all the fields of life however some information is too valuable that can't be shared free of cost, i believe in the later one.
on the one hand, information is root cause of human development and it needs to be free so that others can get help and improve their quality of work. if the information was not free from the bronze time the human could have never developed that much as there were random and few people that were striving for knowledge, however i believe it defends on the nature of information not all information should be free in this modern world.
some information is of great importance that if it is published there is possibility that the person to whom it belong might not get credit or other might use it and get ahead. for example elon musk's company space x is the only company that make reusable rockets and have revolutionized rocket engine, now if that information is published freely the competitors of space x could get ahead and the company will be left behined.
in conclusion, some people argue that all information should be free and anyone can excess them however some information is much valuable if shared can play against the person whom it belonged in the first place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the importance of information for human development and use SpaceX as a relevant example for the counter-argument, the explanation remains quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more depth and nuance. For instance, you could discuss the ethical implications of patenting life-saving medical research versus the necessity of protecting commercial intellectual property. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not fully synthesize the points raised in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. You rely on basic transitions like 'on the one hand' and 'in conclusion'. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within sentences and between paragraphs. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack clear punctuation, which disrupts the flow. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'nevertheless' to create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'information is' and 'some information'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'excess' instead of 'access' and 'defends' instead of 'depends'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. For example, instead of 'get ahead', you could use 'gain a competitive advantage'. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to research and business would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('it have helped'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('if the information was not free... the human could have never developed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences that lack necessary commas or periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage. Increasing your use of complex structures, such as conditional sentences, will help, provided they are used accurately.
