Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both sides of the argument, the discussion is superficial and lacks the depth required for an academic task. You mention the risks of sharing information but fail to adequately discuss the benefits of sharing in scientific or academic contexts, which was a core part of the prompt. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and rely on simplistic examples, such as the mention of bank passwords, which is not relevant to the broader context of scientific or business research.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. While some cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore' are used, they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly. The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the lack of a clear structure makes the argument difficult to follow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is hindered by the brevity of the response and the limited development of the points presented.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'educational global' instead of 'academic world' and 'stooled' instead of 'stole'. The use of 'misused' as a verb is also grammatically incorrect in this context. The vocabulary is generally basic and does not demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for higher band scores. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to business and research.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as fragments ('due to the fact that, people receive...') and incorrect verb forms ('People should to save'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misused commas and capitalization errors. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To reach a higher band, you need to practice using complex sentence structures and ensure subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage.
