Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the argument, the points are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or examples. The introduction is poorly structured and does not clearly outline the scope of the discussion. Furthermore, the conclusion is extremely brief and lacks a well-supported personal opinion. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific, detailed examples and ensure you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often mechanical (e.g., 'first of all', 'on the other hand'). There is a lack of clear progression between sentences, making the argument feel disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas effectively. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'when it became a issue' instead of 'when it becomes an issue' and 'sells high' instead of 'sales are high'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient for a formal academic essay. To improve, you should practice using more precise academic terminology and collocations related to the topics of research, business, and ethics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'when is came from confidential thing'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular capitalization and spacing. The range of sentence structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
