Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 173 words. This significantly impacts the development of the argument. While the essay introduces both sides of the topic and states an opinion, the discussion is severely underdeveloped. The second body paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly after only one sentence. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed, and the position is not fully supported or extended. To improve, you must ensure you provide full, balanced paragraphs for each side of the argument and conclude with a summary that reinforces your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'on the other hand' to signal structure. However, the progression is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is truncated, which disrupts the flow of ideas. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical way, and the lack of a proper conclusion makes the overall arrangement feel unfinished. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'study world' instead of 'academia' and 'various people's assume' which is grammatically incorrect. Phrases like 'carry on in research paper' are not standard collocations. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning academic collocations and synonyms for common words to improve your precision and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'some information are very essential' (subject-verb agreement), 'too significant to be convey' (passive voice error), and 'major aspects are been shared' (incorrect verb tense). Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, such as the lowercase 'on' at the start of the second paragraph. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct formation of passive voice structures, which are essential for academic writing.
