Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern world, some peoples argue that it is good to share as much information as possible in education, business and scientific research. others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my opinion with some suitable examples.

On the one hand, in modern society when people share information on the internet then peoples get information and grow the business and education. Sometimes individuals use information for the wrong purpose and attack on person life. Now a days people take information on cell phone apps like Facebook and WhatsApp, firstly people talk about mane and age then asked about the business and after taken information they say that you give me money otherwise I share information on the internet.

On the other hand, some information is very important for people. when teachers share information about education then students get information and learn a lot of new things. Some people do not know about the business very well then individuals watch video on the YouTube and grow the business. Many time scientists face a problem when they invention a new thing, then they get information on the internet apps then they easily discover things. For example, recently my brother did not understand the math subject then my brother get lecture about the math role and laws and easily understand methods of math.

In conclusion, some people argue that do not share information on internet, other believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be share freely. I agree about the second view because this is important for all person in daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention the benefits of sharing information, the discussion on why some information should be restricted is underdeveloped and lacks depth. The example regarding 'Facebook and WhatsApp' scams is somewhat tangential to the core debate about scientific and academic research. Furthermore, your position is stated in the conclusion but is not clearly maintained or supported throughout the essay. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a specific argument with clear, logical support that directly relates to the prompt's focus on research, business, and academia.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the transition 'Now a days people take information on cell phone apps'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of your argument. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'information', 'good', and 'things'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'attack on person life' instead of 'privacy' or 'personal life', and 'when they invention a new thing' instead of 'invent'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of research and intellectual property.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('peoples argue', 'my brother get lecture'), article usage, and tense consistency ('after taken information'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors makes the writing feel unpolished. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
