Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you address both sides of the argument and provide a personal opinion, the development of ideas is quite limited. For instance, the explanation regarding medical research is brief and lacks specific, well-developed examples. Furthermore, your position shifts; in the introduction, you state that 'giving free knowledge is better,' but in the conclusion, you state that you 'agree with the notion to share limited knowledge.' This inconsistency makes your position unclear throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is hindered by frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. While you use some cohesive devices like 'first and the foremost' and 'on the other hand,' their usage is often mechanical or grammatically incorrect. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the body paragraphs where the connection between the topic sentences and the supporting evidence is weak. The overall structure is present, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by the need to decipher the intended meaning.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. You rely on basic terms and struggle with collocations, such as 'scholary world' instead of 'academic community' and 'distributes information' instead of 'disseminates information.' There are also several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'searches' used to mean 'research' and 'developement' (spelling). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word formation and usage prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'doctors shares'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'if they distributes'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'it leds numbers of obstacles'). Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences lacking proper structure or containing unnecessary full stops. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are consistently marred by errors, which limits the range and accuracy of your writing.
