Student answer (Band 5.0)

There has long been debate over whether itis is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the accademic world. Others people believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. The most persuasive agreement to this view is that sharing information with each other is a very good way to give awareness to unaware people about different conditions, terms and services. We must also use social media for this purpose. If we share information about business, people can overcome on their mistakes and use many important ideas to improve their business. They can run their factory in a good way . They can also use good quality and higher well-educated employes that helps them to grow and proceed. Share information about scientific research is also a very valuable thing. We have an idea about different scientific methods and for made things such as weapons, atom bombs we can use high-quality chemicals. Conversely, critics argue that some information is too valuable to share freely. People must be aware about their lifestyles, their importance in society. They also know about rules and regulations to live their lives . They also have a right to choose things. They also have some information about foreign countries. They also have a sense to take stand for their own rights. While both perspectives have merit, I am inclined to believe that people should be give information about scientific research, business and accademic world. Students have a freedom to learn subjects according to their own mindsets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and often lacks depth. For instance, the mention of 'weapons' and 'atom bombs' in the context of scientific research is somewhat tangential and not clearly linked to the core debate of information sharing. The arguments regarding business and academic freedom are repetitive and lack specific examples or logical progression. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with clear, relevant explanations rather than listing general statements. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more substance to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. It is essentially written as one large block of text, which is a significant weakness. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'Conversely', 'While both perspectives'), they are often used mechanically or to connect loosely related sentences. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt. To improve, you must organize your essay into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for each view), and a conclusion. This will help create a logical flow and improve the overall structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'very good way', 'good quality', and 'important ideas'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'accademic' and 'itis', and awkward collocations like 'overcome on their mistakes' (should be 'overcome their mistakes') and 'proceed' (used incorrectly in context). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors prevent a higher score. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and ensure you are using words in their correct context to express your ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'people should be give information' (passive voice error), 'for made things' (incorrect preposition/verb form), and 'Share information... is also a very valuable thing' (gerund usage error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of errors in basic sentence construction limits the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct passive voice construction will help you achieve greater accuracy.
