Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 136 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you identify both sides of the argument and state an opinion, the ideas are significantly underdeveloped. The discussion lacks depth and specific examples, particularly regarding the side of the argument that suggests some information should be kept private. The response reads more like an introduction and a brief outline rather than a full essay, which prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no clear paragraphing, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'on the other hand', 'for example'), they are used in a limited and sometimes mechanical way. The lack of a proper conclusion and the brevity of the response make it difficult to follow a logical flow of argument. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for each view), and a conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You use simple phrases like 'good to share', 'many aspects', and 'in every way of life'. There is little evidence of less common or academic vocabulary that would be expected for this task. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should aim to incorporate more precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'intellectual property', 'transparency', 'proprietary information', or 'collaborative research'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it will helps'), punctuation (missing full stops), and sentence structure (e.g., 'Mostly people consider'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often simple or contain errors that distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring proper use of articles, and correcting verb forms. The frequent errors indicate a limited control over grammar.
