This essay will discuss both views before presenting my opinion.
On the one hand, there are several advantages of shre more information in scientific research, business and academic world. A key reason is that the rapid development of digital marketing in business world has enables companies to reach a wider audience and promote their products more effectively. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of sharing information are discussed, the counter-argument regarding why some information should be kept private is not fully explored; the essay instead pivots to discussing the benefits of sharing again in the second body paragraph. The conclusion mentions privacy and fake news as disadvantages, but these points were not developed in the body of the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that both sides of the prompt are given equal weight and that the reasons provided are fully supported with clear examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance' are used to guide the reader. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed. For example, the second body paragraph begins by discussing the benefits of sharing information, which repeats the theme of the first body paragraph rather than contrasting it with the 'valuable information' perspective required by the prompt. Referencing is generally clear, but the logical flow between paragraphs could be improved to better reflect the two opposing views.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or minor errors, such as 'beliresulsome' (a likely typo for 'believe some') and 'shre' (share). The range of vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'important', and 'valuable'. To improve, you should incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to intellectual property, data security, and academic transparency, while ensuring that spelling is checked carefully to avoid distracting the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'as much information as possible as in scientific research' (incorrect prepositional usage), 'has enables' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'researching for them' (incorrect collocation). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with spacing and typos throughout the text. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage would be beneficial.
