Student answer (Band 6.0)
Information sharing is crucial in every aspect. Some people believe that it is totally understandable to provide every single detail in scientific research, business and the academic setting, while others emphasis on the importance of valuable information which cannot be shared with every one. This essay will highlight both aspects, and I personally believe that people should not provide every detail to every one as it can be used against them.
On the one hand, information sharing is very imperative in scientific research as a proper research requires all the details to work on specific topic or item such as disease, or to find a solution for something. For example, someone is suffering from a disease, a doctor needs to know each and everything about that to provide a complete treatment to cure the patient. If the person will hide some information from the expert, he might not get best treatment which he requires to get relief from suffering. Even in business and academic setting, information sharing is a part of process to know more about loss and profit and the facilities education system need to help students with their queries.
On the other hand, although sharing as much as information may be important, it has drawbacks for people because many individuals can misuse that knowledge against people. To illustrate, rival parties may use information against businesses for a loss, if every details has been given.
In conclusion, information sharing plays a vital role in every profession to deal with different situations and circumstances, but there should be some limitations and guidelines regarding which details should be shared regardless of professions and need of data sharing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and presents a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the scientific example regarding medical treatment is relevant, the explanation of business and academic information sharing is quite brief and lacks depth. The argument regarding the risks of sharing information is also underdeveloped, relying on a single, generic example of 'rival parties.' To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific, nuanced examples and ensure that the implications of your arguments are fully explored rather than stated in general terms.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To illustrate' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the general topic of information sharing and the specific examples could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'every single detail' and 'each and everything.' There are also some minor collocation issues, such as 'emphasis on the importance' (should be 'emphasize the importance'). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the overall lexical range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive, informal phrasing to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. For instance, 'if every details has been given' contains a subject-verb agreement error ('details' is plural, 'has' is singular). Additionally, there are minor issues with articles and phrasing, such as 'the facilities education system need' (should be 'the facilities the education system needs'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy is key.
