Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay partially addresses the task by discussing both views on information sharing and presenting an opinion. However, the argument lacks development and specific examples to support claims. For instance, while the writer mentions that sharing information can enhance education, they fail to explain how or provide real-world examples. Additionally, the conclusion is missing, which weakens the overall response. Therefore, it falls short of a higher band score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

Coherence and cohesion are present to some extent, with the use of connectives like "On the one hand" and "On the other hand." However, there are several instances where ideas are not clearly linked or developed, such as in the transition between discussing the benefits of sharing and the drawbacks. There are abrupt jumps in ideas (e.g., from benefits to the point on 'hidden' information). The overall structure needs improvement to enhance logical flow, which affects clarity.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource shows some variety but is limited overall, with many word choices being simplistic or awkward. Phrases like "very important" and "hidden all over the world" could be improved with more sophisticated vocabulary. The phrase "new ideas and technology to enhance our education system" is appropriate but can be more specific. There is also noticeable repetition of words and phrases, which detracts from the range needed for a higher score. Improvements in vocabulary choice will aid clarity and engagement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical accuracy is inconsistent, with several errors that hinder understanding. For example, "Other argue the some information" should be corrected to "Others argue that some information." Sentence structures vary, but errors such as run-on sentences or missing articles (e.g., "the some information") demonstrate a need for greater accuracy and range in grammar. This affects overall clarity and fluency, leading to a lower score in this criterion.

Overall feedback

Your response has some strengths, such as an understanding of the topic and an ability to present arguments for both sides of the discussion. To improve your writing, consider several key areas. First, ensure that your points are supported by concrete examples or relevant details; this will enhance the credibility of your argument. Secondly, work on structuring your essay more logically, ideally with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Lastly, focus on broadening your vocabulary to elevate your language choices, which will enhance clarity and engagement.
