Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that information should be shared as wide as possible in the scientfic research, business and education. Whereas others are believe that certain information about scientfic research, business, and education information should not be shared as widely as possible, because they think it is too valueable or important to be shared freely. I believe that sensitive and valueable information should be protected in some circumstances.

Sharing information can contribute greatly to scientific and social development. When reseachers share their findings, other young or new researchers can use their knowledge to develop new ideas about finding new researches. This helps the society to make progress and more quickly, For example a professor finding new method in mathematics and sharing it as widely as possible and students can use his kowledge or his method to solve diffrernt kinds sums in mathematics. By this the students gets to learn new method and it can be easily benefit the student.

On the other hand, there are some situations that informations should not be shared as widely as possible. Some business information such as a new products, food menu, financial bills and new technology developments , may be too valuable. If a competitor gets certain kind of information he/she can use that information and create duplicate products can be sold in the market for less price .or they can missuse the technology dangerously.

To conclude, that most of the organization should be using high level of security or need to keep sensitive information to be proctected, so they do not get in wrong hands or their cannot be missused.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding a mathematics professor is quite simplistic and does not fully explore the complexities of academic information sharing. The discussion on business information is more relevant but remains brief. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and deeper analysis of the implications of sharing or restricting information, rather than relying on basic examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'as widely as possible'. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely'). Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas feels a bit disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'scientfic', 'valueable', 'kowledge', 'diffrernt', 'proctected') and some awkward collocations, such as 'sharing as wide as possible' instead of 'as widely as possible'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of recurring spelling mistakes limit the score. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to research and business ethics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'Others are believe that', 'informations should not be shared' (information is uncountable), and 'their cannot be missused'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and sentence boundaries. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors indicates a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic subject-verb agreement and noun countability.
