Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's world, information is considered as one of the most valuable resources. Most of the people share their views about some specific research and other scientific information. From this information many individual learn about new ideas, research paper, scientific studies, and what's going on in this contemporary society.
Some people believe that sharing as much information as possible is beneficial. Because, when most talented people share their views, ideas about any research , business and academic world then other people review their info for learning these beneficial ideas. Then they implement these strategies in their life. For example, in covid vaccine data is shared around the world to treat the people which was a positive way of information sharing. Instead, many scholars share educational information on the internet from where student gets precious knowledge freely. So, in many cases the sharing of information was profitable.
However, some people believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely. Sharing every info can be dangerous in scientific sector as well as in business. For example, if Coca-cola company shares its formula people will make copies of them or if the new design of Apple is leaked before its launch it will leads to loss. In scientific field, if nuclear process or atomic formulas are shared it will lead to destruction.
I believe that, information should be shared but about basic research and academic information not the scientific or personal information. Balance is mandatory.
To sum up, sharing information promotes progress but we must also protect sensitive data. A middle path is the best solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of COVID-19 vaccine data and corporate trade secrets like Coca-Cola's formula. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation of why information should be restricted is clear, but the arguments could be extended with more depth to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points while maintaining the stance established in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'For example', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Instead, many scholars...' and 'Then they implement...'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary society' and 'sensitive data'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'info' (which is too informal for an academic essay) and 'it will leads to loss' (grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'information is considered as' (should be 'considered'), 'many individual learn' (should be 'individuals'), and 'it will leads to loss' (should be 'it will lead to a loss'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage and sentence boundaries. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
