Student answer (Band 6.0)
While it is argued that, it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world, others believed that some information is too important to too valuable to be shared freely. In my opinion sharing information might be harmful for people in many ways so, I firmly believe that people not share their personal information to any other person. This essay will discuss both the views.
On the one hand, sharing information can provide significant benefits to the societies. Likewise it will help people to research about the disease and making a cure for it by working together sharing the information they collected. It will help scientist to work together by being on different countries as well. For instance; Scientist can make a cure for cancer if all the countries scientist start working sharing their collected information rather than working alone. If anything take longer days while doing alone but if you work with the team sharing your thoughts information it will take lesser days.
On the other hand, sharing information can be more risker. Companies invest millions of money for the project and during their projects if someone leaked the information and if any other competitor companies make it before them then it will be loss for the starting company. For instance, a company making a new technology should make their design confidential, until its done.
In conclusion, sharing information can be be convenient and helpful in terms of scientific progress and educational purposes but some information need to be private and should not reveal because of commercial, ethical, security concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention scientific collaboration and commercial confidentiality, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis. Furthermore, your thesis statement shifts the focus slightly toward 'personal information,' which is not the primary focus of the prompt (scientific and business research). To improve, ensure your supporting points directly relate to the specific contexts mentioned in the task and avoid introducing new, tangential topics like personal data privacy.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'Likewise it will help people'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one would improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'confidential,' 'competitor,' and 'scientific progress.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'more risker' (should be 'riskier') and 'it will be loss' (should be 'a loss'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on repetitive phrasing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid basic grammatical errors in word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'people not share' (should be 'people should not share'), 'being on different countries' (should be 'in different countries'), and 'anything take longer days' (should be 'tasks take longer'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and refining your control over complex sentence structures to ensure they are error-free.
