Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding why information should be restricted are unclear, focusing on 'meaningless' social media content rather than the core issue of intellectual property or strategic business secrets. The position is stated but lacks the depth required for a higher band. The essay remains somewhat superficial throughout, failing to fully explore the implications of the prompt in a professional or academic context.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is often disjointed. While transition signals like 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or incorrectly. For instance, the transition 'Moreover, academic world' is grammatically incomplete and disrupts the flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the relationship between sentences is not always logical. The lack of cohesive devices within paragraphs makes the text feel like a series of disconnected statements rather than a cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent errors in word choice, such as 'magnificent' instead of 'beneficial' or 'important', and 'verity of opportunity' instead of 'variety of opportunities'. The student struggles with collocations, such as 'effort less things' and 'it loss our individual result'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, relying on basic, repetitive terms that do not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('many information are'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In modern days many institutes provide analysis about different fields in social media to facilitate student.' The use of complex structures is attempted but is consistently inaccurate, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and full stops in several places, which forces the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning.
