Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a debate going on that some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world but the others believe that some information is too important or valuable to be shared freely.
I agree with the fact that it is good to share as much information as possible if we are doing things related to scientific research, business and academic world as in their world even if a tiny information is missed out it can cause hinder in their world leading to their failure. For instance, when I was doing my academic work in groups it was to hectic to work without getting any information shared so we missed out various important points which could have helped us but some members decided to keep it in dark which resulted in no contribution to our growth as a team and only demonstrated lack of trust between us. Similarly it can also be the case for any business and scientific research also.
However sharing all the information has also its disadvantages as people tend to take credit for most work done even if it was you. In business, informations are considered a valuable asset and are not dealt in open. Sometimes businessman purchase information for their own benefit maybe from their friends or enemies as it will boost the value of their firm. For example, I always share all the information while doing projects to get more clarity and to see all other members are also in the same page as me. But it backfired as one member left the team and decided to join the opponent resulting in all the information being shared.
In conclusion, share information as much as possible but also share it with the one you can trust or share it in a cost so it doesn't bite you back.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The examples provided, such as the personal anecdote about group work, are relevant but lack the depth required for a higher band. The conclusion is a bit simplistic and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph explores the implications of the arguments more thoroughly rather than relying on personal anecdotes, which can sometimes limit the scope of the discussion in an academic context.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between the two main body paragraphs could be smoother. While the logical flow is generally maintained, the referencing is sometimes slightly unclear, such as the shift from general business practices to the specific personal example in the second body paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a more sophisticated transition between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'tiny information' (should be 'a small amount of information') and 'dealt in open' (should be 'dealt with openly'). The use of 'informations' is a common error, as 'information' is an uncountable noun. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and avoiding basic errors with uncountable nouns and phrasal structures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'it was to hectic' (should be 'too hectic') and 'share it in a cost' (should be 'at a cost'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences that could be broken up for better clarity. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage would be beneficial.
