Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an ongoing debate that, certain individuals think that it is beneficial to share as possible as more data of scientific research, business as well as the academic world; however, remaining members of society believe that it is not good to share every things as some information are either very confidential or valuable. In this essay, I will discuss both approaches before presenting my personal viewpoint.

On the one hand, sharing information in every field is pivotal as people get up to date with new technology and academic and scientific finding projects. To put it in simple words, due to advanced technology people can acsses the information such as when industries like cosmetics, foods, fashions are delivered their new launch products information to community which will helpful for both public and for industries to increase their revenue. At academic level, students can easily gather information and learn many things which researcher put their paper and upload their tutorial video on internet.

On the other hand, even though, it is good to share information, it has many drawbacks. If they are share every details than their opponents get advantage of the data and they not have to put their efforts to do all things which is leads to rise competition and fraudness. Like, when pharma industry reveals their medicine formula then their rivals make profits from the using formula and also sometime the registers others pattern on their own name.

Having discussed both perspectives, I would like to infer that sharing information is good idea to aware people about our achievement at the scientific, industrial and the academic world but they have to ensure their pivotal information to avoid hurdles and competition.

In conclusion, from my perspectives, although, because of sharing information everywhere people can follow fashion trend and also they can try new foods and useful in study as well, pivotal information share freely increasing issues and burden.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why information should be protected is a bit repetitive, focusing primarily on 'competition' and 'fraudness'. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples, such as the ethical implications of sharing medical data or the balance between intellectual property rights and public interest. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'To put it in simple words'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'they', 'their') is always precise would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to discuss the topic clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'confidential', 'intellectual property' (implied), and 'pharma industry'. However, there are several instances of non-standard word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'fraudness' (which is not a standard word; 'fraud' or 'unethical practices' would be better) and 'registers others pattern' (which should be 'patents'). To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an ability to construct complex sentences, but these are frequently marred by grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some information are'), article usage, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'it is good to share as possible as more data'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency, and try to vary your sentence structures with more precision.
