Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 171 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the prompt, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. The conclusion is extremely brief and does not clearly state the author's own opinion as requested. To improve, you must expand on your points with detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'Furthermore', they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not logically connect the sentences. The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the lack of sufficient content makes the overall structure feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details that flow logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'daily live style activity' and 'dengers'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient for an academic task, as you rely on simple, high-frequency words. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topics of research, intellectual property, and business ethics, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'technology is improve' (should be 'is improving'), 'communication government and private is easy' (unclear syntax), and 'some details share not others' (incorrect word order). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors in subject-verb agreement and tense. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and prepositions.
