Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are some people who believe that sharing data related to scientific research, businesses and the academic world freely to everyone is good whereas other people thinks the opposite, they think that some informations are too important or too valuable to be shared freely in the world. In my opinion, people who thinks that everything should not be shared freely in the world are more right because there are so many things that need to be kept private.
Alot of people who tends to share their information on social media and news channels have the major reason that is to spread awareness and they want other people to have knowledge about these things. Basically, they want to help other people if they’re facing any difficulties in any of the given topics.
For instance, there are alot of people who face difficulties in finding business opportunities or knowing anything about businesses so if the information related to the same is published already than they might find solutions for the problems they are facing.
Despite sharing everything on social media
some people likes to have their personal spaces and they don’t prefer sharing everything on social media as it depends person to person
Some people are extrovert whereas others are not and they are not able to express themselves in crowds. In addition, some people fear publishing stuff due to the fear of regretting it afterwards.
In Conclusion, everyone has their own opinions regarding their own spaces some people are more engaged in the free world whereas others wants to have their personal spaces.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While the prompt asks about scientific research, business, and the academic world, the essay shifts focus toward social media and personal privacy, which is only tangentially related to the core topic of institutional information sharing. The arguments are somewhat superficial and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, you should focus on the specific contexts mentioned in the prompt, such as intellectual property, patent laws, or the benefits of open-source scientific collaboration, rather than general social media usage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the discussion of sharing information and the argument about personal privacy is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or used in a mechanical way (e.g., 'For instance', 'In addition', 'In Conclusion'). Furthermore, the paragraphing is inconsistent, with some sentences appearing as fragments or lacking clear topic sentences. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear central theme and use a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'sharing information', 'facing difficulties', and 'good/bad'. There are also minor errors in word form and usage, such as 'some informations' (information is uncountable) and 'people who thinks' (subject-verb agreement). To achieve a higher score, incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'intellectual property', 'transparency', 'proprietary data', or 'collaborative research'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people who thinks', 'people who tends') and punctuation errors, such as missing commas and run-on sentences. The use of articles and plurals is also occasionally inaccurate (e.g., 'some informations'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical rules and attempt to vary sentence structures with more complex clauses.
