Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, science is became an essential component globally. Scientists are introducing new developments on a large scale. They are doing different experiments in various fields such as education, business and even about ecosystem. However, some individuals consider that it is great to distribute as much knowledge as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. While, other people argue that some knowledge is too crucial or too expensive to be divided globally.
Firstly, sharing of knowledge offers numerous advantages to pupils. Students become more inovative and the also can be able to learn more about new developments such as electronic devices, artificial intelligence and even some medical researches. For instance, it science shares a lot of information about computer and artificial intelligence then learners would be able to create many useful things such as robots, automatic vehicles and even replace old technology with the new one.
Secondly, regarding to ordinary people they can also make positive contribution in this context. By this i mean that people can learn about various things such as how to prevent them from serious diseases. For instance, if the researchers public their research about several life threatening diseases so people may be able to make ready themselves against these diseases such as cancer, dangue and even malaria.
In contrast, some individuals argue that few information is too crucial and secret so it will not be leak among people. They consider that some information is about business companies and these are kinds of secrets. For instance, of the researches about business companies are shared freely then it will be beneficial for their competitors. This can be prove to be harmful for them.
Finally, from my perspective information will be shared equally in public but some information like which are kinds of secret so these will not to be distributed in public.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like robots and medical research, the explanation of why information should be restricted in business is quite brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more nuanced reasoning. For instance, you could explain the economic impact of intellectual property rights more deeply. The position is consistent, but the overall depth of analysis remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In contrast' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'By this i mean that people can learn about various things'. Additionally, some sentences are linked awkwardly, which occasionally disrupts the logical progression of your argument. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'information' and 'things'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'divided globally' instead of 'shared globally' and 'public their research' instead of 'publish their research'. While your meaning is clear, the vocabulary is somewhat limited and does not demonstrate a sophisticated control of language. Expanding your range to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'science is became', 'regarding to ordinary people', and 'if the researches about business companies are shared'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty, which limits your score in this criterion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralisation.
