Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that sharing information can boost 'upliftment' and that restricted access prevents misuse, these points are not fully extended with specific, concrete examples. The essay relies on general statements rather than detailed explanation. To improve, you should provide more specific scenarios—for instance, discussing how open-source medical research during a pandemic might save lives versus the risks of intellectual property theft in corporate sectors. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'This essay will be elucidate with different exemplify and ideas' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. While you use linking words like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second body paragraph where the connection between 'the people examines the data' and the conclusion is weak. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking phrases will help the essay flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'information' and 'data'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'boost the upliftment' and 'the argue of the people is surge'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly opaque. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, such as 'intellectual property', 'transparency', or 'proprietary information', rather than relying on general terms. Spelling and word-form errors, such as 'elucidate' used incorrectly as a verb in this context, also limit the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('their is an argument'), incorrect word forms ('too crucial too be shared'), and punctuation errors (spaces before commas). The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the attempt at complex sentences frequently results in errors, such as 'the information provided freely can be misused by the public . however, the data holds different concepts that should not be given access easily'. Focusing on basic sentence accuracy and proofreading for common errors like 'their/there' and 'to/too' will significantly improve your clarity.
