Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern time, most people have got a way to receive information, and they feel involved more in what's going all over the world.

So having that easy access to the information leads people to believe that it's important to get as much information as possible in scientific research business and the academic world. And in some point they got right to believe that, because we're all concerned in this world and what is going in it, and it's important to know what's going in it, the new things the new technologies, to stay updated, and be aware of everything. Because like in business, sharing a lot of information and let them be available to everyone may help some of them to make their business too, it may save lives. Same thing about scientific research especially medical one's. It will lead people to be more constructive and helpful.

But at the same time there's always a negative thing in anything that exists, and it's the same thing about people. As it exists the good people where they on only think to help others, there's the bad one's, the type of people who doesn't have to know a lot because there intentions are bad, That type when they get so many detailed information about anything, especially about science and also the security type of information, they going to use it, and develop there satanic ideas to ruin everything.

So as a best solution for this topic, and which is my opinion, sharing is caring but some things aren't necessary to be shared and make them public, some of the information needs to be preserved and stay in good hands. We can share what people needs and preserve the detailed one's.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'bad people' using information for 'satanic ideas' is vague and lacks concrete examples or logical depth. While the prompt asks for a discussion of scientific, business, and academic contexts, the essay treats these areas in a very general way without specific illustrations. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed, academic-style examples to support your claims, ensuring that the discussion remains balanced and well-reasoned throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is occasionally hindered by informal phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'But at the same time' and 'So as a best solution', but they are somewhat simplistic and mechanical. The transition between the benefits of sharing and the risks of sharing is clear, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to connect ideas more fluidly. The paragraphing is present but could be more effectively structured to separate the two viewpoints more distinctly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. You rely on informal or imprecise language, such as 'the bad one's', 'satanic ideas', and 'the security type of information'. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'medical one's' and 'there intentions'. To improve, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'intellectual property', 'transparency', 'proprietary data', or 'dissemination of knowledge', rather than relying on general, conversational descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the type of people who doesn't have'), incorrect pronoun usage (e.g., 'develop there satanic ideas'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors, particularly with possessive pronouns and pluralization, and aim to incorporate more complex, error-free sentence structures to demonstrate better control.
