Student answer (Band 5.5)
The ongoing debate is that some individuals believe that it is good to reveal information in scientific analysis, business and educational world. On the other hand, sensitive and precious information is not communicated freely among the individuals.
However, I agree with the individuals who believe that the information is delievered freely among the society because they think for the welfare of society.
Intially, the individuals who believe that the data in the field of scientific findings, business and academia id delivered freely among the society. The data in the field of medicinal research may be used to save millions of lives and become the last hope for many people in society. The research in the field of business may be used to eliminate unemployment from the society and give millions of jobs to those who were seeking for the employment and the findings in the field of academic world may be used for the overall progress and prosperity of a country.
The people who believe that the sensitive and precious information is not delivered freely among the individuals. However, in some circumstances they are right becuase in our contemporary society we do not believe on anyone because greed is the biggest curse of this era. For instance; their are many researcher whom analysis have been stolen and got patent by other analysts. This is the main reason of this insecurity in those people who think that research shuold not be distributed freely among other researchers beacuse they use it for their own purposes without giving credit to the anaylisis holder.
In my point of view, the findings should be patent and than communicated freely within society. However, it should not be used for thier own perspectives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing the two views regarding information sharing in science, business, and academia, while also providing a clear personal position. The writer introduces both sides in the introduction and develops them in the body paragraphs, arguing that while open information benefits society, protection against theft is also valid. However, some ideas are repetitive and underdeveloped. For instance, the discussion on medical and business research tends to generalize without specific examples, and the conclusion introduces a confusing nuance about patenting before sharing that was not fully explored. This places the performance within Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay presents a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, demonstrating a logical progression of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraph boundaries and internal structures are somewhat disjointed. For example, the sentence starting with 'Intially' attempts to introduce the first perspective, but cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, such as the repetitive phrasing used to link arguments ('the individuals who believe that...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and transitional phrases lack variety and precision, resulting in a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant domains such as 'medicinal research', 'unemployment', and 'contemporary society'. However, there are notable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'delievered' instead of 'delivered', 'Intially' instead of 'Initially', 'whom analysis' instead of 'whose analysis', and 'anaylisis' instead of 'analysis'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they reflect a limited control over less common lexical items, fitting the Band 5 descriptor well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, and sentence construction, such as 'their are many researcher whom analysis have been stolen' and 'research shuold not be distributed freely... beacuse they use it'. Punctuation is also problematic in places, such as missing commas and fragmented phrasing. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, this merits a Band 5 score.
